So what did we do?

Everyone was asked to come to clinic/hospital for an assessment by one of the EPICure assessment team.  For the few of you who couldn’t get to clinic we visited you at home.  The team were all specialist doctors who had volunteered to help us with the study.  All of them had to undergo training in the tests we used and (the bit they didn’t like!) had to be independently scored from videos of their assessments before they started and at random through the study. This made sure that all were interpreting the tests in the same way.  We tried to see everyone as close to 2 ½ years after they were supposed to be born as possible.  We also had information from your local paediatricians as to how well your child was doing at 1 year of age so where we couldn’t see children at 2 ½ we at least knew how well they were doing at 1 year.   Read More>
